As is the way with things, when we post that a game is being ported it's usually accompanied with a link and me saying I quite liked it. Well, Mantis Burn Racing is getting a Switch release, and I quite liked it when I reviewed the PS4 version

For the uninitiated, Mantis Burn Racing is a top down racing game, infamous for being amongst the first 4K native games on the Playstation 4 Pro, which I'm fairly sure the Switch version isn't boasting.

The Switch version will have 4 player splitscreen in both handheld and tv mode, plus online racing, and will be getting the dlc tracks and cars

Wololo!

Announced during the franchise's Gamescom stream, all we have to go on at the moment is a trailer, which contains precisely zero gameplay:

Continuing Microsoft's outsourcing of their RTS stable to Sega, this game will be handled by Dawn of War devs Relic Entertainment.

Also there's going to be a "Definitive Edition" of the first AoE. But never mind that- AoE IV!

One of the surprise standouts of last year's EGX for me was Forgotton Anne, an amazingly-animated adventure game.

Today, publisher Square-Enix Collective have released a Story Trailer. It's below.

Described as a procedurally generated multi-player co-op dungeon crawler, Looterkings does look fairly unique

You and 3 friends team up as a band of goblins, attempting to reach the elven queen. The levels are procedurally generated so each attempt should be different. Your up against cartoonish fantasy monsters, and you're on the hunt for treasure and gear

Looterkings is currently in Steam Early Access, but it gets its full release in a few days, on the 11th August

When you think of Arc System Works you think of fighting games, beautiful and complicated fighting games, but every now and then they throw out something a bit left-field, and Boost Beast is one of those games

Pitched as a puzzle fighter, it doesn't look unlike Puzzle Fighter (or Zoo Keeper if you ant the better game). It's actually more of a defence game, a genre we've not seen a lot of over the last few years.

Not unlike something like Puzzle Quest, you match blocks to trigger attacks, or in this case warriors (dogs by the look of it) to face off against the on-rushing hordes.

It probably makes more sense if you watch the trailer below. It's out now on the Nintendo Switch store, whatever it's called, priced at 8.99, and it's something I might pick up myself when I get my Switch tomorrow

If you enjoyed precision platformer Slime-San- which Ben did, when he did a First Play- then you can look forward to a sort-of free, sort-of expansion!

Subtitled Blackbird's Kraken, the DLC features a short campaign of 25 levels replete with the obligatory collectables, as well as a house to customise, a submarine-based variant on the main game, and of all things, a mini-FPS.

Interestingly, Blackbird's Kraken is going to be free on release for existing owners of Slime-San, but will be available on its own for $4- although there's been no word as to what happens if you buy the main Slime-San game after this date.

Incidentally, the Switch version is "nearly done", but they also don't say if that's just the base game or the expansion too.

Blackbird's Kraken will be available on PC from July 20th.

They've done a new IP!

It's a multiplayer third-person adventure title, where up to four players investigate various exotic locations as an Egyptian witch queen has resurrected all sorts of monsters.

It's explained slightly better in this 1930s-style trailer:

It's due 'soon' on PC, XBone and PS4, and we'll be seeing gameplay footage during E3.

Somehow it passed me by that the release date for Guilty Gear Xrd REV 2 on PC was so close to the European (and Western at that!) console release, so used have I got to fighting games being released late on PC

To get Guilty Gear Xrd REV 2 on Steam you're going to have to do a bit of work, but the short version is that you need Guilty Gear Xrd REV, then you need to buy REV 2 as dlc for the game.

The slightly longer version is that you can buy the game (from HERE) then pick whether you want versions of the game(s) with all the character dlc, costume dlc, audio dlc etc, or the cheaper option of the base game(s) with the option to pick up the extra characters as you see fit

There's a lengthy trailer below that goes in to detail on some of the changes for Guilty Gear Xrd REV 2

We reviewed the Vita release of Damascus Gear: Operation Tokyo a couple of years ago. I gave it a 7 out of 10.

Now the game is coming to the PS4 and has had a HD tarting up in the process

v is a hack & slash action rpg, set in a far future Tokyo, where you must destroy rival mechs to keep humanity safe, equipping their dropped items in the process

Damascus Gear: Operation Tokyo wasn't a bad game ont he Vita, helped by its price and that it was on the Vita. That's not to be dismissive of the Vita, nor Damascus Gear: Operation Tokyo, but I do wonder how well the simple gameplay will translate to the PS4 two years down the line.

Still, I had fun with it, there was quite a bit of charm to it all, and there's an awful lot of game there. It's also helped by the price, 7.99, and the promise of 60fps, all in all I'd say (based on my memories of the Vita version) Damascus Gear: Operation Tokyo HD Edition might be worth giving a go
