You may remember Aleks Krotoski from Bits, a late night Channel 4 games programme from the early 00s, which she presented with Emily Booth (whose name might get us some hits), and also Thumb Bandits with Iain Lee (whose name probably wont, no offence to him intended).
Anyway, in The Culture of Gaming Aleks, who had given up on gaming for the past 10 years, looks at games to see how, or even if, they have grown and expanded in emotional depth. That's an awkward way to explain it, but it should be enough to say she mentions Flower, Journey, chats to Molyneux, talks Papa & Yo and plays some Spec Ops.
Personally I think it could have gone further, and I'd have liked her to stick with Spec Ops longer (she debates whether she would have picked up on its themes if she went in blind, I think she would once she hit halfway).
The series is available for at least another year, and it is worth a listen if you're interested in the topic. Episode 1 and Episode 2

Listeners to the 1up podcast will have heard SEGA's Constantine Hantzopoulos talk of PSN and XBLA when asked about 'Project Needlemouse'.
Like I said, nothing official, but it certainly makes sense

Oh, bloody hell, we jumped and did a podcast. This fortnight, saying the exact same thing everyone else has said about the Byron Review, Pro Evo and Rock Band on Wii, and the demise of consoles, all via the gift of Skype and a terrible internet connection that makes me sound like a 13 year old.
