When Japanese superdeveloper Platinum Games first kicked off, they signed a four-game publishing deal with Sega.

Having now seen the first three- Madworld, Bayonetta and Infinite Space come and go, plus the final game in the quadrilogy Vanquish due for release shortly, does it mean that the dream pairing is over?

Aparrently not, as producer Atsushi Inaba has been quoted, by play.tm, amongst others, as saying
[The] relationship between Sega and Platinum games does not end with Vanquish.
Even more interesting, was another quote from Hideki Kamiya, who, when asked about the possibility of a Bayonetta 2, replied:
She'll be back if you believe so
Now, last time somebody started hinting around Bayo, it didn't end as well as we'd hoped, so let's not get too excited just yet.

Nippon Ichi Software have officially announced Disgaea 4. There's already an official teaser site and below you can find a Japanese trailer.

Nippon Ichi weren't strictly at the TGS event, however they used a nearby hotel to announce Disgaea 4 during the show. Disgaea 4 producer and Nippon Ichi CEO Souhei Niikawa announced the title, stating the game will focus on 3 key area's that emphasise a shift in fate for the troubled developer, from andriasang.com.

First, the game uses Takehito Harada's illustrations in their original form, rather than converting them first into sprites. He said to expect smoother animation as a result. Fans of Nippon Ichi's sprite work will also be pleased to know that the game also includes sprite versions of the art, and you'll be able to switch to them if you please.

The next sales point is "yarikomi" elements. "Yarikomi" is the Japanese word that encompasses all the extra crap that extends gameplay time -- things like collecting items, aiming for the high score, and building up your characters. Disgaea is known for such elements. For part 4, Nippon Ichi is implementing a system where players will be able to show off to other players just how much "yarikomi" they've gotten out of the game. When connected online, you'll be able to attack other players. They'll also be able to attack you.

So what happens if a player who's raised his characters to top levels attacks a beginner player? Niikawa cited two possibilities for dealing with this. First, they're considering allowing players to set it up so players at certain levels will be abel to attack in this way. Additionally, it's possible for players to come into your Disgaea world not just to attack, but to assist as well.

The final element was one of the big focuses of the trailer: a political theme. This replaces the school theme of part 3. You'll be able to manage internal factions in a government.

MCV are reporting that Makoto Asada, a producer at Cave, has let slip Rising Star Games' plans to release DeathSmiles on xBox 360 to retail in Europe early next year at TGS, which RSG themselves are yet to comment on.

This marks the first time any of the developers' games have been released on disc in Europe, although DeathSmiles has been released Stateside, alongside a nice bundle containing a soundtrack CD and an xBox 360 faceplate.

They said it would be there, and they weren't lying. It's also been confirmed for a Holiday 2011 release date, in Japan most likely, which means 2012 some time for us. Enough time for me to get a PS3 then.

We all know by now its heading for PSP, this has obviously split opinion. If it was PS3 it'd be yet another reason of an ever growing pile for me to now want the console, but its on PSP so I'm happy (although I believe Ben is dissapointed but understands SEGA's position).

Below you'll find the first trailer with clips from various cut-scenes, which are, as usual, beautifully animated. It's all in Japanese, obviously, but still, enjoy.

There's not much to say about this, Radiant Silvergun is coming to XBLA. The Running Man boss returns!

The Saturn classic hasn't aged as well as Ikaruga, but there's still not much else like it. Graphically it just looks like it's had a smoothing filter added to it, which is a bit of a shame.

But still, one of the most sought after shooters ever is coming, and people will be able to play it. That's nothing but good news

Not from Sega by the looks of it, but fitting with the theme.

Project Draco is developed by members of Team Andromeda, developers of the Panzer Dragoon series.

I'll post a trailer once there's a good quality one up. Ideally we'll get to see some gameplay before the end of TGS, but I wouldn't count on it.

It almost seems insignificant, but it's worth noting that Project Draco will be Xbox Kinnect exclusive. A shame that it's not available to more people, but it does raise my interest in microsofts motion controller

Duane will be happy

Sega dont seem too happy that this has found its way onto the net judging by them removing SegaBits video.
Either way Phantasy Star Online 2 is coming and it's confirmed for the PC. Maybe 360 and PS3 announcements are on the way, but I'm sure the PC will do for fans

Just a word of advice for publishers. If you are going to milk a franchise for all it's worth, run it into the ground with annual sequels and spin-offs, then make sure to do it like this.

Sega have released the trailer to the greatest thing ever created. It's Yakuza with zombies!

But not just zombies, oh no, guns, and not just guns, dead final bosses turned into cyborgs with machinegun arms.

Honestly, this has taken Fist of the North Star as my most anticipated game
