Project X Zone, the crossover RPG featuring all those Capcom, Namco and Sega characters, has just been blessed with a surprise announcement of a western release.
Launching in the US, Europe and Australasia this summer, the game features 50 characters from 29 different franchises and seemingly was well-received on its Japanese release last October, scoring 8, 9, 9, 8 from Famitsu.
The story- such as it is- concerns a "rift in time and space" causing all the characters from the various worlds spilling in to one, with gameplay involving strategy-RPG brawling where characters from different games come together to augment each other's strengths.
The game is heading for 3DS, and has been co-developed by Banpresto and Xenoblade Chronicles developer Monolith Soft.

Namco Bandai have announced their "first cross media based game" coming to mobile phones and it'll be available this year.
First off there will be a free-to-play card battle game coming to smartphones, web browsers and tablets, which will be available "within the next few week" and then later this year the company plans to release card packs.
By scanning a QR code on each card (which will be available through various retaillers) players will be able to upgrade characters in the videogame or add new characters to the roster. There will also be augmented reality features for devices which have in-built camera's.
As with other "Free-To-Play" models, the videogame can be played as a standalone title, as can the card game for that matter, but the option is there for players to combine the two. Namco Bandai have said that card packs will be available this spring.

As before, we only have a "Summer 2013" Japanese release date for the XBox 360 and PS3 title with no news on an American or European publisher. But as fans of previous works of Grasshopper, we'll all be keeping a close eye on this one.

Below you'll find a huge amount of Yakuza 5 screenshots. These appear to show off a few of the characters and locations that you'll be able to meet and experience in SEGA's latest installment into the franchise which has been a big seller for them since its appearance on the PlayStation 2.
There's been no news so far on a release outside of Japan, but the other titles, including Yakuza: Dead Souls, have all eventually made their way over to the US and ultimately the UK so theres the hope that the same will apply to this fifth installment.
