I've a sneaking suspicion that Borderlands might end up in our WWP Game of the Year list for the coming year. The list is essentially a tally of the most frequently mentioned games we've played, and Borderlands strikes me as having the Fallout thing where everyone picks it up eventually.
I actually played through it last year, and despite enjoying it swore off a second play through, partly because I wanted to level 50 my character through DLC and partly because I didnt think I'd have time. Anyway thanks to a quite few days, and playing some multi with friends, I've got the bug back. I've been waiting for something really special to show itself in terms of weapons and armour, but it's not really happened. I guess things have got a bit more powerful, but there's nothing I feel lucky to have. I'm enjoying it more than I expected to on a second run through, I guess because it's more of a breeze this time.
I've also played a bit of Murumasa on the Wii. I still dont know quite what to make of this, but I do know I've got worse at it. I think I might need to grind a bit, and that the game isn't quite as special as some would have you believe, beyond that I'm finding it very hard to form an opinion.
It's not so hard to form an opinion of Serious Sam HD (the PC version), that it's stupid but brilliant. The enemies spawning behind you is massively cheap, I could do without that, but I guess it all adds to the retro-y feel to things.
And finally I've been playing some Football Manager 2010, there's not much you need to know other than it took a couple of days off me this week, and I'm still not through my first season... or even at christmas :(
